TV presenter Laura Hamilton has taken to social media to blast a rough COVID-19 test she underwent, while in Gran Canaria. The A Place In The Sun presenter has to have regular tests in order to continue travelling around the world for work during the coronavirus pandemic, and has said sometimes they can be “quite gentle” however her latest procedure was anything but.
Laura opened up about the incident, while chatting to fans via her Instagram Story.
The mum-of-two informed her 115,000 followers that she needed another test because she is travelling to the nearby island of Fuerteventura at the end of the week.
“I just got back from the hospital because I had to have another COVID test,” the 38-year-old star began.
“Now I know that in order for me to do what I’m doing right now, travelling for work, means that I do have to have COVID tests on a regular basis.
“I’m flying to Fuerteventura on Friday from Gran Canaria, which is why I had to have one,” she continued.
Laura then detailed the very unpleasant experience.
“I don’t know if you’ve had a COVID test, but sometimes they can be quite gentle – there not pleasant at all, you have to have a stick up your nose and in your throat, well actually in your throat first before up your nose – but the one I just had, in Gran Canaria, in a hospital in Gran Canaria, it wasn’t gentle at all.
“It literally was, I’m going to shove this stick up your nose as hard as possible and jab, I mean it really was unpleasant.”
Laura has spent the week in the Canary Islands, finding properties for her house hunters and filming new episodes of A Place In The Sun.
She began the week in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria on the South West coast.
While in Maspalomas a few days later, the presenter got to spend time with an adorable puppy and posted pictures of their encounter on the picture-sharing site.
In both of the snaps, she could be seen in a pretty polka dot shirt dress, with many complimenting her look.

It comes after Laura revealed that she has to wash her clothes every night while filming on location.
Giving some behind-the-scenes insight, the presenter said that although the buyers often pack two of the same outfit to wear during filming, it would be wasteful and impractical for her to buy additional copies of each dress she wears on the programme.
Laura made her admission while talking to radio host Sam Pinkham, who was standing in for Chris Evans on his breakfast show.
“If you are out there filming for five days with a couple, does that mean you wear the same clothes for five days?” the radio presenter asked.
“Yes,” the Channel 4 embarrassingly admitted.
“And the couple do as well?” Sam pressed.
“Yeah, but often the couple have two of everything, I just wash my clothes every night, because I can’t have two of everything,” the mum-of-two revealed.
A Place In The Sun continues today at 3pm on Channel 4.
