Loose Women panellist Andrea McLean, 50, said she experienced “Sunday night nerves” ahead of the day the panellists returned to their temporary studio earlier this year. The presenter said she experienced “panic” and “nightmares”, but soon adapted to the “new normal”.

I had all of those, stress dreams and everything.

Speaking exclusively to, she said: “I was scared because, [I had] the sort of Sunday night nerves of going back to school after a summer holiday, where you panic and have nightmares – I had all of those, stress dreams and everything.

“But also, everything was so different.

“This is something that everyone will understand when they go back to their place of work after being in lockdown.”

Andrea and her co-stars temporarily returned to screens using a different studio, so that social distancing measures could be enforced.

She continued: “It feels so strange to walk back into somewhere and it’s not how you left it. It’s the new normal.

“It was so empty, normally when we do the show, it’s in this bright breezy studio and all the lights are on and the audience is there and everyone is really excited and there’s this atmosphere.

“But instead, it’s dark, we’re doing it in this massive studio which is maybe four times the size as ours.”

As lockdown measures continue to ease, the Loose Women panellists returned to their usual studio last month.

Andrea took to her Instagram page to share her thoughts about their return, as she gave fans a behind-the-scenes insight.

In view of her 256,000 followers, she filmed herself cleaning her dressing room and doing her own hair and make-up.

Speaking to the camera, she said: “Morning all. So it’s Monday morning and I’m here at Loose Women and look we are back in our normal place this week.

“First time since lockdown and there is no one here. It’s so weird. So weird,” she added.

“I’m in my room for the first time since we all had to leave and go home.

“It’s literally the first time I’ve walked in this room. It feels so strange.

“It’s like the beginning of things coming back to normal, but it’s not quite normal yet.”

Since returning to screens, Andrea and her team have gone from having four panellists in the studio to just three.
