Celebrity Gogglebox fans were left in bits after watching BBC Sport broadcaster Clare balding, 50, breakdown while watching Supervet Special: Saving My Dog. The sports commentator became overly emotional watching TV vet Noel Fitzpatrick try to save his beloved border terrier Keira, after she was tragically hit by a car in the parking lot of his veterinary centre in Surrey.

While watching the Supervet Special with her wife Alice Arnold, 59, the star became emotional as Noel explained what had happened to his 13-year-old terrier Keira.
Sitting in the waiting room of his clinic, the TV vet sobbed as he addressed the journey had done “thousands” of times before with his pet from his office door to car.
He revealed that as they were walking towards his car, a delivery van came hurtling around the corner, not seeing either of them.
Noel tried to pull Keira to safety, but it was too late and she was crushed under the wheel.
Speaking about the traumatic incident, Noel explained how he was “two feet away from the front tyre” and heard the dog’s “body explode”.
“I still can’t come to terms with it,” he added.
Keira was whisked into surgery within minutes and stabilised before an operation took place to try and save the dog’s shattered pelvis.
Watching the tragedy unfold, Clare had tears in her eyes as she watched the surgery with her wife next to her trying to console her.
Following the operation, which saw Noel operate on Keira himself, the vet revealed that it was a success, leading to Alice comforting her wife.
“See, I told you it wouldn’t have a sad ending!” she said to Clare as she started crying again.
“It’s Supervet, they wouldn’t show you if it wasn’t going to have a happy ending”, she added.
“They do though sometimes, it doesn’t always happen and end like that”, Clare sobbed as she blew her nose.
“You’re making a mess”, said Alice comfprtaing her wife as Clare wiped away tears.
Taking to social media, viewers revealed that like the sports broadcaster they too were devastated at what they were seeing onscreen.
In an attempt to comfort the star, one social media user wrote: “I’m with you, @clarebalding #supervet is always an emotional rollercoaster #Gogglebox”, followed by a kissing face emoji.
Another added that they too were emotional watching Noel upset.
“I’m crying with you Clare too @clarebalding”, they added.
Another sympathised with the star, writing: “#CelebrityGogglebox aw #clarebalding got so emotional, bless her x”.
Thankfully Keira survived the accident and the supervet gave fans an update at the start of the year.
Taking to Instagram, Noel grinned from ear to ear while holding his beloved pet and thanked his fans for their kind messages.
Celebrity Gogglebox airs next Friday at 9.00pm on Channel 4.
