“But he doesn’t like to put labels on anything.

Abbie, who recently spoke wedding plans with AJ, continued: “He has said ‘love is love’ because he really does believe that ‘love is love’, and it doesn’t matter who you love, whether that be a girl or a boy.”

She continued: “We have so many friends who are gay and we literally support them so much.

“I support anyone who has a boyfriend and is a boy, and anyone who has a girlfriend and is a girl. I am absolutely all for it.

“I am most definitely straight but I do believe that love is love.”

Dancer Abbie, who recently revealed she has received death threats, has been dating Curtis Pritchard’s brother AJ for over a year and the star even has the seal of approval from her mother.

She said: “My mum and AJ get on so well. She does AJ’s hair actually.

“She’s a hair technician. She highlights mine and AJ’s hair together.”

Abbie and AJ were together while the dancer appeared on Strictly, and has opened up on how romance speculation between AJ and his dance partner Saffron Barker was “tough”.

She explained: “Obviously during Strictly it was a tough time because people were saying things about Saffron and AJ, and I trust AJ with all of my heart, we have such a good relationship, I know he would never ever do anything like that to me.

“So I knew from us both that we were absolutely fine. And Saffron, she was absolutely lovely to me and we’re still good friends and chat on social media now.”

However, Abbie was just as surprised as everyone when AJ announced his decision to leave Strictly earlier this year.

After finding out the same time as the rest of the world, she said: “I was shocked when he said he wanted to leave Strictly because I knew he loved it. It was literally his life and he loved the people that he was working with, the pros and all of his partners and he had the best time.

“He didn’t actually tell me he was going to leave. It just suddenly came out one day. He didn’t talk to me about it.”
