Linda Robson has shared how the Loose Women's summer getaway to Ibiza resulted in her being admitted to rehab.
The TV panel host, 61, has discussed how the holiday with Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha, Andrea McLean, Kaye Adams and Saira Khan in June 2018 did not end how she hoped after her colleagues and pals realised she was in a bad place.
The Birds of a Feather star began battling crippling anxiety in 2008 after her son Louis' pal Ben Kinsella was stabbed to death whilst the pair had been out celebrating their GCSEs.
After the tragic event she has always worried about the safety of her children.
The actress has now explained during an interview with The Sun how she struggled during her trip away as her "anxiety was so bad" and that she wanted to return home.
“I was trying to act normal and be part of the gang, but I was struggling to get through the day", she explained.
She told that she took a couple of bottles of vodka which she drank to try and knock herself out at night but it did not work.
“I’d already had a couple of sleepless nights and, by the third, I ended up having a proper meltdown,” she shared.
She added that she "wanted to die" because she "wasn't enjoying life anymore".
Linda told that her Loose Women co-hosts were so concerned that they contacted her family and it was decided that she would go back to the UK and straight to a rehab facility in London.
She explained that Stacey came with her during her "terrible state" but shortly after checking in Linda and her husband Mark decided it was not a suitable clinic and they left and went home.
Following her struggle in Ibiza, Linda’s family located a clinic in the North and she stayed there for six-weeks.
However her anti-depressant medication was upped during her stay at the clinic and that left her feeling unwell and groggy and she soon started drinking again.
She told: “I was hyper. I couldn’t calm down, and I still couldn’t sleep. I was like a madwoman, so they kept upping my medication, which then made me groggy."
"Then I started drinking again. I’d say I was walking the dog, go and buy a little bottle of vodka, then come home and just knock myself out, just go to sleep,” the brave host shared.
After three stays in various clinics the star's behaviour has been attributed to a rare allergic reaction to an anti-depressant and she is now getting better.
