Love Island newbie Sharon Gaffka's close bond with her mum has been unveiled, after she was announced as part of this year's line up.

The 25 year old beauty pageant queen is full of praise for her mum, Nur Hasanah Gaffka, who was hailed a hero following her cancer battle in 2012.

Sharon, who is set to step into the Love Island villa next week, shared an Instagram post which sees a photo of her mum in a hospital bed along with her father, who is stood beside her.

As she shared the image, she tagged John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and gushed over her mother.

Sharon, who has an unlikely link to Molly-Mae Hague, wrote: "Me hero" alongside a red heart and world emoji before adding the hashtag #cancersurvivor.

Civil servant Sharon has continued to praise her mother over the years as she posted an adorable photo of her mother and father together to mark Mother's Day.

Model Sharon, who won Miss International in 2018, called her mum her "soul mate" in the touching caption.

It read: "Happy Mother’s Day to my best friend and soul mate!

"I don’t know what I would do without you!"

She then wrote in Indonesian: "I do love you with all of my heart! Miss you so much!"

Sharon the asked her followers: "Also, aren’t my parents the cutest?!"

The Love Island newbie, who looks unrecognisable in an unearthed throwback photo, has been supported by her mother as she competed in beauty pageants.

A throwback photo from June 2018 sees Sharon's mum looking adoringly at her stunning daughter, who is dressed in a dazzling white gown embellished with sequins.

Sharon called her mother "the real queen" as she posted the adorable mother-daughter snap on her Instagram page.

The brunette won the Miss International UK pageant in 2018 and has continued to praise her mum for her support.

As she shared a photo of her mum shopping in 2019, she gushed over Nur Hasanah in another sweet post.

Sharon wrote: "Happy Mother’s Day to the most amazing woman in the world!"

Sharing the humble nature of her mother, she continued: "All she wanted to do today was be taken to the Chinese supermarkets so now I’m currently walking around with bags of fruit and vegetables!"

The up and coming reality star went on: "I hope everyone enjoys spending time with their families today! But an extra big shoutout to the mums who are dads and the dads who are mums, because it’s not just about the mums, but everyone who acts like one."
