Miranda Lambert and Elle King dropped their new collaboration “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” on Friday. The song was co-written by King and Martin Johnson.
The track, which was recorded before the pandemic broke out in Nashville and New York, was produced by Johnson.
“The true story of this song sums up our wild friendship,” King said in press a release. “Miranda is someone I have looked up to as a songwriter, musician, performer and human being for a long time.”
“So our tumbleweed snowball story of getting to know each other is the ultimate real deal kinda thing,” she added. “Nobody revs me up, kicks my ass on stage, or treats me more like family than Miranda Lambert.”
“Drunk” is the second duet featuring the former tour mates. The first was a cover of “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” which won a CMA award.
