Scheana Shay’s 67-year-old cousin is missing

Scheana Shay may be abroad in Europe, but she’s going through a family crisis at home in California.

The “Vanderpump Rules” star’s cousin, Phillip Tate, went missing on Tuesday evening around 5:15 p.m., per the California Highway Patrol’s Silver Alert. His whereabouts are still unknown, Shay’s rep told Page Six on Friday.

We’re told he went missing after he and his wife visited his mother-in-law at the Westmont Village Facility in Riverside, California. When his wife returned to the car, he was nowhere to be found.

“He has dementia and diabetes, so the family and authorities are especially concerned of the effects from not having his medication,” the rep noted. “There were three different sightings of him in the Mission Grove Shopping Center mid-day on Wednesday, followed by a sighting just near the shopping center in a residential area, but there have been no leads or sightings since then.”

Shay, 34, is currently in London with her mom, Erika van Olphen. While she did post the Silver Alert on her social media and pleaded for help finding Tate, she made it clear that she intends to enjoy her trip to the best of her ability while they await answers.

“I just wanna say one thing to a few people who said me posting my trip is insensitive in light of what’s going on with my family,” she said on her Instagram story. “But there’s literally nothing else I can do other than post and hopefully by posting from London more people see the story about our cousin.”

Her costars, Kristen Doute, Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent, Brittany Cartwright, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, and Ariana Madix also asked their followers for help finding Tate.
