Stephanie Davis has revealed she’s been rushed to hospital with a serious chest infection.

The Hollyoaks actress took to social media to reveal she’s been in hospital for over a week as she shared a video of herself in bed while attached to an IV drip.

Stephanie, 26, reassured fans about her illness as she revealed she was given morphine.

The mother-of-one said in a candid Instagram video: “I have been in for over a week. But I feel like I have turned a corner so I just wanted to come on – sorry for the way I look.

“I think I have just been really run down for a long time since my relapse last year and when I tried to end everything, I just haven’t looked after myself for a long time.

“I feel like everything happens for a reason, god knows I am stubborn and it takes me a while to realise things but it’s taken this to stop and look after myself.”

She added: “I am still in pain but morphine is helping, morphine is good.”

Steph later revealed online that she went outside for the first time since being hospitalised.

"I'm grateful for the air outside. I went out for the first time yesterday in a wheelchair and let the air on my face,” she explained. It was just like, ahh. How much we take for granted. It was amazing."

It comes after Stephanie candidly opened up on suffering a relapse and attempting to take her own life, saying she found herself "praying for hope" while still trying to "fight the pain that had took my mind body & soul [sic] ".

She wrote: "I kept saying I want to die I can't do this anymore, I screamed out for Help in desperation, some people even ignored me like I was just saying it! [sic]

"To feel like your life isn't even worth something is the worst feeling I've EVER experienced in my LIFE, total despair & helplessness that I wouldn't wish on anyone! [sic]"

She went on to admit that she even felt like her three year old son Caben would be "better off" without her as she continued: "It was blackness, dark, disturbing, gone, nothing that would make me want to stay, not even Caben and that's the truth, that's how gone I felt. I felt everyone was better off without me, that I was a burden to everyone. [sic]".
