Alex Beresford shares ‘sun still rises’ post after Piers Morgan took aim at star

Alex Beresford returned to Instagram on Sunday to share a cryptic post following his former Good Morning Britain colleague Piers Morgan taking aim at him.

Alex, 40, shared a snap of himself perched on the edge of his sofa alongside a wistful caption which read: "Probably shouldn’t have my trainers on this white rug! Anyway bless up yourselves on what looks like a grey Sunday. Remember the sun still rises and sets so beautifully some place in the world everyday."

The weather forecaster's mysterious message came after Piers, 55, took aim at Alex in his bombshell Mail on Sunday column.

Piers accused Alex of "whacking" him to make a name for himself, following their explosive on-air bust-up over their opposing views about Meghan Markle's claims in her jaw-dropping Oprah Winfrey interview.

The former Britain's Got Talent judge also said what he branded as Alex's "censorious lecture" about Meghan Markle was what prompted him to storm off the GMB set.

He explained: "I don't mind outside guests trying to make a name for themselves by whacking me like this, but I wasn't going to sit there and take it from one of my own team, especially someone who I've gone out of my way to help whenever he's asked me for advice about his career.

"Realising I might say something I'd regret, I decided to leave the studio to cool down."

During their on-air row, Alex said: "This is pathetic. Absolutely diabolical behaviour.

"I'm sorry but Piers spouts off on a regular basis and we all have to sit here and listen. From 6.30 to 7am yesterday, it was incredibly hard to watch.

"He has the ability to come in here and talk from a position that he doesn't fully understand…"
