Autodromo Reunites With British Racing Driver Vic Elford for Second Collaborative Timepiece

Six years after the launch of the first Vic Elford limited edition, Brooklyn-based Autodromo has once again reunited with the British racing driver for another special Prototipo Chronograph.

Once again revisiting his triumphs at Targa Florio, the new timepiece pays tribute to his race on the legendary Italian circuit in 1969, where he drove his Porsche 908/2 to finish in second place and set one of the fastest lap records ever.

Reflecting the livery of his car at the time, the chronograph sports a playful colorway pairing a clean white upper portion of the dial with a sky blue lower sector, accented by a dash of red coming in the form of a chapter ring and seconds hand. As usual, the Prototipo carries a black tachymeter on the outer ring and three subdials in the same tone at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, powered by the Seiko VK63 Hybrid Meca-Quartz movement. Completing the look is an engraving of the Targa Florio circuit on the caseback as well as a black leather rally strap.

For those interested, Autodromo’s new Prototipo Chronograph Vic Elford 1969 Edition is now available over on the company’s website for $775 USD.

Elsewhere in watches, Finisterre has joined Timex for a sustainability-focused Tide Watch.
