EASYJET is launching new flights to Spain, Italy and Scotland from London Gatwick next summer.
Routes include Aberdeen in Scotland, Bilbao in Spain and Cagliari in Italy, starting from May 2, 2021.
Flights will start from £34.99, a relatively cheap price for flights ahead of the summer season.
The three new routes pre-empt the return to flying which is hoped to recover next year, and will take easyJet's fleet to 71 aircraft.
The following flight schedule is:
- London Gatwick to Aberdeen – daily flights from May 2 (from £36.99)
- London Gatwick to Bilbao, Spain – flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from May 2 (from £34.99)
- London Gatwick to Cagliari, Italy – flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays from May 4 (from £36.99)
Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager for easyJet commented: "In anticipation that demand for travel will return – and having recently seen signs of growing confidence by our customers in making plans for travel next spring and summer – we continue to strengthen our network at Gatwick, providing more key direct domestic connections from London and more opportunity for customers to book a trip to look forward to.
“Returning customer momentum has been supported by the welcome news of the vaccination roll out, which will enable normal life to resume; including travelling again for work, to visit friends and family, or for a much-needed holiday."

Gatwick Airport's Head of Airline Relations Stephen King added: "It’s fantastic news for passengers to see three new easyJet routes added from Gatwick. Aberdeen in particular has been a very popular service in the past, so we are delighted Gatwick passengers can again benefit from this. Equally, Bilbao and Cagliari are two great destinations for either a long-weekend break or a family holiday.”
EasyJet passengers can also take advantage of discounted coronavirus tests if travelling to a destination which needs one, teaming up with two testing firms Confirm Testing and City Doc.
When customers make a booking on easyJet.com or easyJetholidays.com, they are given a unique code to use on the testing partners’ websites to access a discounted test price.
Customers will receive a reduced rate of £75 per home test with Confirm Testing, or £100 per home test or £150 for an in-clinic test with CityDoc.
Both testing companies aim to provide results within 48 hours of the test being returned to them.
The airline has launched its winter 2021 / 2022 flights extra early, with seats on routes across Europe up to spring 2022.
The airline is offering 36 million seats on flights from October 1, 2021, to March 26, 2022.
Destinations include Malaga, Tenerife, Rome and Lisbon, with fares from £14.99.
