Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are fitness fans who reportedly follow healthy diets, both being fans of green juices. Meghan loves yoga, while Kate enjoys running. Kate is a long-time member of the Royal Family, and previously worked for Jigsaw, while Meghan is an LA-born former-actress.

So, which woman is ageing best? A professional doctor and cosmetic surgeon analysed both women and their skin to provide insight.

Aesthetics Doctor & Cosmetic Surgeon Dr Lucy Glancey said: “While both women are absolutely gorgeous, Meghan Markle‘s face is currently looking more youthful compared to Kate Middleton.

“This is largely down to the fact that she has more volume in her face.

“A fleshy face is often more youthful than a thin one.”

What else can the expert tell us about Kate and Meghan’s skin?

Dr Lucy said: “Meghan’s facial thirds are in proportion, however her width to height ratio is not favourable which could mean that she will age faster visually.

“Her current ratio is probably less than 3:4, and this will get smaller with age so she will appear thin and long faced which can be ageing.

“However her skin type is in her favour.

“Being a mixed race skin type 5/6 she will have more collagen in her skin and therefore she will have less lines and wrinkles or they will appear later on in life in life.”

What did she have to say about the Duchess of Cambridge?

The expert said: “Kate Middleton on the other hand has perfect facial thirds ratio and has a slightly more favourable width to height ratio than Meghan.

“However she is lacking facial volume, possibly due to weight loss, and this will progress as she gets older and will age her quickly.

“Also being skin type 2 she will be more prone to early lines and wrinkles.

“Kate has particularly aged under her eyes, she has hollows called tear troughs- again this is common when we age, but is also accelerated by fat loss.

“Her cheeks are losing volume which shows especially when she smiles, however I put Kate’s ageing largely down to weight loss as pictures of her when she had more weight on during pregnancy are much more flattering to her face.

“I don’t believe Kate has had any work done and like Meghan is a natural beauty!”

As for whether either woman has had plastic surgery or cosmetic intervention, the expert said: “I don’t believe Meghan has had any work done at the moment.”

However, Dr Lucy didn’t rule out some dental work.

She said Meghan has “possible composite veneers and teeth whitening and maybe very subtle cheek augmentation but unlikely.”

When it comes to the Duchess of Cambridge, the expert said: “I don’t believe Kate has had any work done and like Meghan is a natural beauty!”

The royal line of succession – who outranks who?

The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.

It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.

Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.

Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.

The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.

Prince Charles, 71, is currently second-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 37, his oldest son.

Then comes Prince William’s children, George, six, Charlotte, four, and Louis, one, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 35. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
