Real Women of Are Sharing Bikini Selfie's Because of the Jennifer Lopez Challenge

Jennifer Lopez unintentionally started a viral body positivity challenge on Instagram after her latest selfie inspired women of all ages to post bikini photos with the hashtag #JLoChallenge.

Between performing in the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show, starring as a seasoned stripper/scammer in Hustlers, continuing to rock that green Versace dress, the 50-year-old mother of two becomes more of an icon by the day.

On February 16, the singer and actor star posted a mirror selfie of herself in a white bikini on Instagram. She captioned the snap "relaxed and recharged," but little did she know this was the beginning of the latest social media movement. Aside from those toned abs (which, damn), the viral challenge is about more than looking good”—it's about the power women's bodies have at all ages and sizes.

J. Lo's post inspired women across the social media platform to post their own version of her selfie, as well as share why they've decided to step outside their comfort zones. Maria Kang, a health and fitness influencer and founder of No Excuses Mom, was one of the first to share a photo of herself in a white bikini alongside an important message to moms.

This is (almost) 40!⁣ ⁣ Thank you @jlo for inspiring this spontaneous pic in a white bikini this morning. Yes, my mirror is freckled with toothpaste (does your children only use your sink too?!), yes there are unpacked luggages on the ground, an iron, dog dryer and husband shaving somewhere in the background – but I"m getting it done! ⁣ ⁣ Not a celebrity. Not getting millions to look great in a movie (hello, Hustlers! ? Or dating a hot athlete (although my hubby is kinda cute!) BUT, it doesn't matter… ⁣ ⁣ Own your story. Create your own accountability. Don't make excuses for your inaction. If she can do it, if I can do it, if thousands of working moms who come in all sizes, shapes and ages can do it – then YOU CAN DO IT!!!⁣ Post your #bathroomselfie and tag 3 friends who can bring it like #jlo ⁣ #jlochallenge #noexcusemom #whatsyourexcuse

I am a 37 year old wife, mother, business owner and a proud member of the #noexcusemom community ~ joining in on the empowering movement of spreading body positivity with the #jlochallenge. As hard as it was to take this picture & share it to the world..because let’s face it, we ALL can be very hard on ourselves & can nit pick all damn day on what we don’t like & what we would change. But there’s a point in our lives where we have to accept that we all come in different SHAPES & SIZES and embrace the stage that we are in. I’m choosing to love my body because it gave birth to 2 healthy + beautiful children (now 16 & 13) and has gone through many changes ?? *hello stretch marks* and will keep evolving because I won’t stop working on me. I will continue to take care of myself and NOT make excuses on why I’m not taking care of myself, but instead finding REASONS. Because my children & my family deserves a healthier happier mother! I’m so very thankful to have the support & encouragement that I receive from my No Excuse Mom community, my family, & friends. I challenge you to share your bathroom selfie and help empower other women around the world to do the same, what are YOU waiting for??? #NEMworthington #happierhealthier #nomoreexcuses #filterfree #inspired #mompreneur

Well what the hell. Lets do this! #jlochallenge it is. I know I look strong. I work hard to be strong. Truth is, no matter how physically strong I get, emotionally I am weak. I get hurt easier than most, I get sad easier than most; but I also love deeper than most and give more than most and work harder than most. I suffer from borderline personality disorder. A mental disorder which is something I have to learn to deal with for the rest of my life. It is the root of my greatest weakness but also my greatest strengths. I am 34 years old and have an amazing 2 year old son who is my world! Growing up I swore I'd never have children and then at 30 I found myself turning to IVF after changing my mind and then finding out I was infertile. At that time I was 220# and had no idea how to take care of my body. I made a decision to change my life for the better and live healthier. I loved learning more and more about health and fitness so I became a certified personal trainer, hoping to get their own business up and running by the end of the year. Now I stand in front of my mirror, proud of my hard work, and amazed at my bodies capabilities. Plus I have the most beautiful family I could dream of. If JLo can do it… If I can do it…. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! #noexcusemom #jlo

This body is 35 years young , gave birth to 4 handsome boys, love being a mom of boys and love being a wife to my husband for almost 17years. I have been a leader ( #nemflemingislandfl – Jacksonville) for 3 exact years now, with NEM community (Fort Meade MD) since 2015, and I love how it changed my life ❤️ I told my hubby yesterday about this bathroom selfie and how I feel uncomfortable taking my selfie, he always sees the beauty in me that I don’t, he pushes me out of my comfort zone … he said “Lead by an example” and it reminded what @mariakangfitness always says. We won’t grow if we don’t get out there, and try our best to be fierce and fit ? So here we go, my selfie with NO filtered mirror, every stretch mark is a story and a blessing….always trying my best to challenge this body to get stronger and healthier not just for my boys but also because it makes me feel alive, I don’t know if I ever will be satisfied but that’s where it will always push ME to fight even harder even when I fall, I will pick MYself back up, Be kind to yourself and Stay Humble! ? Own your story. Create your own accountability. Don't make excuses for your inaction. If she can do it, if I can do it, if thousands of working moms who come in all sizes, shapes and ages can do it – then YOU CAN DO IT!!!⁣ Post your #bathroomselfie and tag 3 friends who can bring it like #jlo ⁣ #jlochallenge #noexcusemoms #whatsyourexcuse @lina_h_nem
