Sunday racing tips: All you need for the TRI Equestrian Handicap Chase at Leopardstown

WITH Storm Jorge ravaging Saturday’s meeting at Navan, punters will be more than satisfied with tomorrow’s racing in Ireland.

While Navan's card — led by the Grade 3 Flyingbolt Novice Chase — is rescheduled for Tuesday, racegoers can look forward to action at Leopardstown, spearheaded by the TRI Equestrian Handicap Chase.

And what’s more interesting is that the feature €50,000 contest features a notable top-weight in Anibale Fly.

JP McManus’s star has been placed in the last two editions of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

He has yet to beat in rival in three disappointing runs so far this season, but this is a marked step down from the Irish Gold Cup which he contested four weeks ago.

His main goal this term is undoubtedly the Grand National, for which he is 25-1 with Ladbrokes, and he will do well to give weight away here.

Preference is for Henry De Bromhead’s POKER PARTY.

The Kerry National winner can give his trainer a timely boost going into the Cheltenham Festival in the hands of Rachael Blackmore.

He lost nothing in defeat when fourth behind Roaring Bull in a red-hot race last time out.

He has gone up a further 3lb, but he is a horse still on the upgrade and he can land another big staying pot here.

Keep an eye out for former winners of this race Spider Web and Woods Well.

The latter in particular has dropped to an attractive mark and enters calculations for each-way purposes.
