Last year, Londoners were given prime opportunity to take their kit off in the nation’s favourite socialising space: the pub.
The Coach and Horses pub in Soho was granted a license that allows for both team members and punters to strip down while enjoying a pint. The year before that, The Exhibit bar in Balham hosted a naked speed dating night where people could see others’ ‘merchandise’ before deciding whether they want to take things further.
So it’s only fitting that 2020 give us yet another naked event, but this time, it involves food.
Later today, between 2pm to 6pm, The Blue Lion Pub in Bloomsbury will be serving up classic Sunday roasts with an added twist: all guests will be stark naked.
The event will be hosted by British Naturism, and those taking part are also invited to join in on a naked swim before dinner, if they’d like.
As for the meal, it’ll feature all the usual delights, including meat, vegetables and gravy (be careful with the pour to avoid burns) – all with a side of bare bums, nipples and genitals galore.
Those concerned about the nippy weather can rest easy, the organisers will request the pub to crank the heat up for the big day.
‘We get a variety of people coming to our events – all sorts of people are involved in naturism,’ said event organiser, Jonathan Williams.
‘The only practicalities include telling guests to bring a towel to sit on. We also always have to make sure the heating is on at venues during the winter.
‘As naturists, we are comfortable being around other naked people – and we usually find that the staff at places where we hold our events are happy to have us back.’
Fancy getting your clothes off and digging into a plate full of roasted goodies?
Unfortunately, we’ve got bad news – the event is already sold out.
So, you have a few options: make a roast at home and eat it nude, try to score a ticket from someone who for any reason can’t go anymore or head along to another naked event – because yes, there is more fun to be had in the buff.
Next Sunday, British Naturism is hosting a quiz night at a pub in Abingdon, while on 14 March, there will be a three-course naked dinner in Hemel Hempstead.
Or if you really want to go along today, you could just rock up and hope for the best – but it might be a very cold wait in the queue.
