'Aquaman and the Last Kingdom' Director Shares First Photos of Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master

Fans of the DC Extended Universe were first treated to new photos of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman for Aquaman and the Last Kingdom. Now, the director of the upcoming Aquaman sequel has shared photos of another character in the film, Orm Marius, also known as Ocean Master.

Patrick Wilson reprises his role as Ocean Master

Patrick Wilson will be returning to the DC Extended Universe as Ocean Master. The last time fans saw Ocean Master, he was being imprisoned by Aquaman after trying to start a war with the surface world. Since Orm was the central villain of Aquaman, fans are curious to learn more about his role in the upcoming sequel.

According to ComicBook.com, the director of Aquaman and the Last Kingdom, James Wan, posted the first photos of Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master on his Instagram account on Sept. 7. The film is currently in production, so one could assume that this picture was taken recently.

In the photo, Wilson is shirtless and only wearing a pair of worn, dirty pants. Wilson’s Ocean Master is sporting a long, raggedy beard, and his hair has grown out to his shoulders. To sum up his look, it doesn’t look like prison has treated him very well in the time since the first Aquaman film.

Wan captioned his post, “I found this guy [Patrick Wilson] stranded on a desert beach, doing his Cast Away impression.”

Details about ‘Aquaman and the Last Kingdom’

Aquaman and the Last Kingdom is the highly anticipated sequel to Aquaman, which came out in Dec. 2018. Its current release date is Dec. 16, 2022.

There is not much known regarding the plot of the film because it is currently in production. But Wan has said that Aquaman and the Last Kingdom would expand its worldbuilding of Aquaman. Also, Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren, and Temuera Morrison will all be reprising their roles from the first film.

However, more information regarding Aquaman and the Last Kingdom will hopefully be coming soon. Warner Bros. announced that behind-the-scenes footage of the film would be shown at its respective panel during DC FanDome 2021. The convention will start streaming on Oct. 16 at 10 am PT/12 pm CT on DCFanDome.com.

Jason Momoa shared new pictures of himself in Aquaman’s new suits

Over Labor Day weekend, Jason Momoa and Wan posted photos of Momoa in two of his new Aquaman suits to Instagram.

In one picture, Momoa is sporting the classic Aquaman costume. The other photo shows Momoa wearing a brand new, darker stealth suit. Of course, the internet went crazy over the post. Anticipation for Aquaman and the Last Kingdom is at an all-time high as of this moment.

Fans are rarely treated to behind-the-scenes looks of big-budget comic book movies. But perhaps Wan wanted to be the first to share the details of his film with the world. This way, people in deep corners of the internet can’t leak these photos themselves.
