FRIENDS' Courteney Cox 'knocked out' Ed Sheeran as he replaced Ross in the series iconic dance routine.
The moment in the classic sitcom sees brother and sister Ross and Monica Gellar perform a dance. But has Ed Sheeran outperformed Ross?
Actor Courteney Cox and British singer Ed once shared the same roof and he introduced her to her boyfriend, Johnny McDaid so that may be why the two have become firm friends.
The pair make a good effort of ‘the routine’ but Ed did not manage to pull off catching Courteney at the end as they were both knocked over.
Dancing to Loreta’s ‘The Trouble with Boys’ the dance was originally choreographed by Pussycat Dolls Founder Robin Antin.
Courteney captioned the video for her 11.1 million Instagram followers with: "Just some routine dancing with a friend… @teddysphotos," Cox captioned the clip, adding the hashtag, "#ReRoutine."
Fans and Cox's famous friends commented on the video, with Kaley Cuoco writing, "This is EPIC."
"This is amazing!! 🙌🏽👏🏽," Tan France added, while Jen Meyer asked, "Did you just break the internet?!?!"
Ed posted the video of him and Courteney performing the iconic routine on a grassy field overlooking the ocean to his 32.3million followers.
Ed captioned his post of the video with: “Had a reunion of our own this weekend @courteneycoxofficial #theroutine#iknow #friends4eva#obviouslybetterthanross”
The long anticipated Friends reunion aired in the UK on Thursday, May 27.
17 years since the show ended in 2004 the one-off special drew in millions of viewers.
Meanwhile Ed previously told the Daily Mail he met Courtney when he was doing smaller gigs and building his fame in Los Angeles.
After a show in 2013 Scrubs producer Bill Lawrence and his wife, Christa Miller, brought their daughter to his show to meet him.
Sheeran bumped into them again the next day and they invited him to a party at Courteney’s house.
She was working on Cougar Town with Bill Lawrence at the time and when Sheeran showed up for the party they hit it off so well, she offered him a place to stay at hers.
The singer and songwriter also introduced Courtney to boyfriend, Johnny McDaid.
Johnny is Snow Patrol’s guitarist as well as Ed’s songwriting friend who would visit him at her home.
Ed told the Daily Mail: "I think I did the 'Courtney meet Johnny, Johnny meet Courtney' thing, but Sacha Baron Cohen did the matchmaking. It's just two people who fell in love and I hope they're really happy."
Courteney told The Sun in 2015, "We are certainly grateful to Ed for introducing us."
There were even rumours Ed Sheeran would sing at the couples wedding.
Courteney is encouraging fans to post their own versions of the iconic dance routine with the hashtag #ReRoutine.
The Friends Special is available on Sky One or Now TV.
