Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson has opened up about her return to Coronation Street to mark the work anniversary of one of her close pals.
Before playing single mum Maxine Miniver in the Channel 4 soap, Nikki made her name as Candice Stowe in Coronation Street and played the hairdresser for six years.
The actress, 35, first appeared in Corrie in 1999 and played Sarah Platt's (Tina O'Brien) best friend until 2005.
The character had a turbulent love life, dating both Todd and Jason Grimshaw and also enjoyed a fling with Sarah's dishy older brother Nick Tilsley.
Nikki and former Corrie co-star Tracy Shaw, 46, who played Maxine Peacock, returned to the cobbles recently to surprise Audrey Roberts actress Sue Nicholls, 75, outside her character's hair salon.

The telly legend, who's recently celebrated 40 years on the ITV soap, couldn't believe her eyes when Nikki and Tracy surprised her on set and she let out a joyful scream as she was reunited with her former co-stars.
After sharing hugs, the trio went for a look around the salon, where both Candice and Maxine worked under Audrey.
The heartfelt reunion was filmed as part of a ITV special to mark Audrey's four decades in Weatherfield.

Discussing her return to Coronation Street, Nikki said: "It was so much fun to go back to Corrie.
"It was wonderful to go for the day and see some people that I used to work with on and off camera.
"A lot of people I used to work with are still there and it was really nice to bump into them."
During her two decade long career, Nikki has appeared on the cover of plenty glossy magazines including FHM.
Discussing being a soap pin-up girl, Nikki laughed: "I definitely don't feel like a pin up. I just feel like part of the furniture now."
Despite being on our screens for over 20 years, Nikki confused that she feels grateful to still be doing the job she loves.
"I could have been binned off years ago," she joked.
"I love being on TV. I love acting, either on stage or TV, and I couldn't see myself doing anything else."
Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first look episodes on E4 at 7pm
