Love Island bosses open applications for the 2022 series of the ITV show

Love Island bosses have opened applications for sexy singletons to find love in the 2022 series of the popular dating show.

The exciting news was announced on social media platform Instagram as the official account shared a familiar snap of the daybeds, over which they wrote: "2022 apply now".

In the caption, they continued: "Happy New Year! [stars emoji] Now, who fancies spending summer in paradise, with the hope of finding love?" followed by a pink heart emoji.

They went on to declare: "Applications are officially open for #loveisland 2022. Get grafting and apply now by clicking the link in bio."

Those looking to "spend the summer in paradise" must be at least 18 years old at the date of application, must not be employed by ITV, Motion, the Broadcaster or any company owned by ITV or be a live-in partner or relative of someone who works on the programme.

They must also have a valid passport and be able to take part for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.

Celebrities who have already taken part in the show were quick to comment on the news as Biggs Chris, 29, who was on season 6, wrote: "Good luck everyone," with a crossed fingers emoji.

Cara De La Hoyde, 31, said: "Completed it mate," followed by a green tick emoji.

Matthew MacNabb, 26, joked: "Round 2?" with a side eyes emoji, while Chloe Burrows commented on the daybed image as she shared: "My bed".

Millie Court, 25, and Liam Reardon, 22, came out on top as the winners of the 2021 series of the show, while their pals Chloe, 26, and Toby Aromolaran, 22, were runner ups.

Their good friend Liberty Poole, 22, had a turbulent time while in the Majorcan villa with her other half Jake Cornish, 24, as the pair left the programme early after separating.

Now, the star has offered advice to the singletons looking to submit their applications to find The One.

Speaking to the camera on her Instagram story, Liberty said: “Hi guys. I’ve had quite a few messages in DM(s) asking me about my audition tape for Love Island and stuff now applications are back open, so I thought I’d just jump on here and help everyone out.”

“To be fair, I mean, I think just be yourself,” she continued.

“I’m an absolute nutter and they liked it. Also, think outside the box. For me, I did a Periometer because I still worked at Nandos so it still showed who I was but in a different way. Just have fun with it. Don’t be too serious.”
