Love Quinn (played by Victoria Pedretti) was the “You” in Joe Goldberg’s (Penn Badgley) life in season two when he moved to Los Angeles. The Netflix thriller stunned fans though when it turned out Love was also a murderer who would do anything to protect herself, Joe and their son Henry. Sadly for both of them, their romance ended in even more bloodshed.

WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from You.

Joe wanted to leave Love after murdering Natasha Engler (Michaela McManus) and falling head over heels for fellow librarian Marianne (Tati Gabrielle).

But Love was determined to keep her husband so she secretly poisoned him with Aconite which left him paralysed.

She insisted that this wouldn’t have been forever but Joe knew otherwise and knew she was up to something and so took the antidote beforehand.

He then used her own poison against his wife and gave her a lethal dosage which almost killed Love instantly.

Back in season two, Love and Joe, for a time, seemed like the perfect match.

She had her own issues with the Quinn family and Joe also had a troubled past so it appeared they had a deeper connection.

One of their little gestures to one another was not saying “I love you” but “I wolf you”, which they said was a stronger form of love.

Fast-forward to season three and one fan pointed out the link you probably didn’t notice.

Taking to Reddit to explain, Rorimc wrote: “Aconitum, also known as aconite comes from the Greek name lycoctonum, which literally translates to ‘wolf’s bane’.

“It is thought to indicate the use of its juice to poison arrows or baits used to kill wolves.

“In season 2 Joe and Love always tell each other ‘I wolf you’, and in the end they tried to kill each other with wolf’s bane.”

Once pointed out, this fact got Netflix subscribers raving about the twisted plot.

Fans commented how this was “crazy” and that the Reddit user was a “genius” for realising this.

“That is so creepy,” another added while a fourth commented: “It keeps getting better!”

A further You fan noted that “she probably wolf-ed her ex-husband too, to wolfsbane him”.

The fact she used the same poison to kill off her first husband does indicate this may have originally been a cute saying of theirs.

While Love is no more, You will be returning for more brand new episodes.

Netflix gave the green light for a fourth season of You just before series three came out.

But will Joe track down Marianne and if so, will she become his next victim?

You seasons 1-3 are available to watch on Netflix.
