Matt Hancock was condemned on Twitter by Piers Morgan hours before he resigned in shame after a leaked CCTV image showed him in a passionate clinch with his closest aide.
Morgan shared a picture of the Health Secretary, 42, embracing Gina Coladangelo next to one of the Queen sitting alone at Prince Philip’s funeral.
‘I thought you said the rules were for everyone’, reads a heartbreaking speech bubble from the masked Queen, who was forced to sit through her husband’s funeral alone in line with social distancing guidelines.
Posting the meme on Twitter, Morgan wrote: ‘This perfectly sums up why Hancock is toast.’
Mr Hancock was caught on camera with his hand rubbing the back and bottom of millionaire lobbyist Coladangelo, 43, who was brought in as a taxpayer-funded advisor in March last year.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in the corridor outside his office at the Department for Health’s headquarters in central London at around 3pm on May 6 this year – the day of the UK local elections and a week after his first coronavirus jab.
The scandal has forced Mr Hancock to resign as Health Secretary following a fierce backlash that saw protesters march through London today.
Hilarious memes shared online today include a picture of Mr Hancock sliding down a slide ‘into Gina Coladangelo’s Whatsapp’ and the Health Secretary with a pair of women’s pants over his head.
