COPS briefly shut down a popular beach to the public after the discovery of animal bones that were feared to be human remains.
North Yorkshire Police announced that they had closed a stretch of coastline in seaside hotspot Filey after the "discovery of possible human bones".
The force confirmed that they made the chilling find at around midday today.
The beach was temporarily closed while inquiries were completed.
Visitors and locals were blocked from accessing part of the beach.
But a later update confirmed the remains belonged to an unknown animal.

"We're pleased to report that the beach at Filey has reopened.
"The bones that were found have been confirmed as belonging to an animal."
Filey's beach stretches for around five miles and is a hotspot for tourism.
It has previously been ranked as one of the best beaches in the world.
