Who were Anthony Sowell's victims?

SERIAL killer Anthony Sowell has died in prison at the age of 61 after being convicted of murdering 11 women.

Sowell – known as the Cleveland Strangler – left the bodies of his victims to rot around his home in Ohio.

Police found two decomposing bodies at Sowell's house in Imperial Avenue while serving a warrant on October 29, 2009.

In the next week, a total of 11 victims were found in and around his home.

Sowell lured the women to his house, often with the promise of drink or drugs, before strangling them.

Tishana Culver lived just a few doors down from Sowell on Imperial Avenue.

The 31-year-old, who had several drug convictions, was last seen by her family in June 2008 – but was never reported missing.

The mother-of-three disappeared in August 2008.

Tonia Carmichael

The first victim identified was 53-year-old Tonia Carmichael.

She had been missing for more than a year when police discovered her body buried in Sowell's back yard in 2009.

Carmichael appeared to have been strangled and was identified through the use of DNA evidence.

Michelle Mason

Michelle Mason's family reported her missing in October 2008 after not hearing from her for a few days.

The 45-year-old lived near Sowell's neighborhood and had managed to kick her drug habits.

She was identified at one as Sowell's victims.

Kim Yvette Smith

Kim Yvette Smith was the ninth of Sowell's victims to be identified.

The 44-year-old was last seen in January 2009, but wasn't reported missing until November that year.

A previous injury had left the mother-of-three unable to use one of her arms.

Janice Webb was last seen on June 3, 2009.

Police searched unsuccessfully for the 48-year-old after she was reported missing in August that year.

The body of the mother-of-one was found at Sowell's home five months after she vanished.

Her body was found in a third-floor bedroom of Sowell's house.
